I’m sure like many of us, when you think of food you can get on the mountain, you think rich, creamy dishes packed full of flavour and capable of warming even the coldest of skiers.
With winter approaching, our recipe for Tartiflette is sure to satisfy those hungry tummies and leave you wanting more.
Ingredients
1 Reblochon Cheese
1.8kg potatoes, thickly sliced
2 onions, sliced
3 garlic cloves, crushed
30ml olive oil
200g lardons
500g crème fraiche
Salt & pepper
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 200oC
2. Parboil the potato slices
3. Heat the olive oil and soften the onions, garlic and lardons.
4. Layer the potatoes, onion and lardon mixture, seasoning and crème fraiche in an oven proof dish.
5. Cut the Reblochon in half horizontally and place on top, rind side up.
6. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes until the cheese has melted and the dish is bubbling hot
7. Serve with a green salad and a plate of mixed charcuterie.
