Unlock the secrets of Bear Lodge: 10 things you never knew

POSTED:

10 fun facts you might not know about Bear Lodge

The ‘Bear Lodge’ idea was born back in 2014 when VIP SKI Managing Director, Andy Sturt, heard about “a little bit of land” in Arc 1950. Seven years passed in the planning and building stages until we finally welcomed our first guests in December 2021. Since then, we have welcomed hundreds of guests to enjoy a week with us in the hotel and suites.

We thought it would be fun to share a few facts about Bear Lodge that you probably don’t know.

1. It's even higher than advertised

It’s actually 2050m high but the marketing men bagged the tag Arc2000 in 1979 and so our new village (just below) has to pretend to be lower than it is ! Arc2000 is actually at 2100m.

2. Lots of friendly staff

Even when it's completely full, there are still one of our staff for every two of you, that means wrap around care every moment of the day.

Our dedicated team of staff will ensure you're well looked after

3. Drop us a message on WhatsApp

WhatsApp concierge is always available to help with anything you might need from lift opening times and restaurant bookings to pharmacy hours and the type of cake baked for tea.

4. Take a dip

At 13 x 6 m our pool holds over 113,000 litres of lovely warm water, a lovely place to bang out some lengths before breakfast.

5. Reach your daily step goal

We’ve also just put some cardio machines into the gym for those for whom a day on the hill is not quite enough.

6. Collect ski equipment in your slippers

We have our own ski hire shop on the third floor, a hop and a skip from your room and the piste.

7. We'll drink to that

Dinner is served in the restaurant for hotel guests on all 7 nights of your holiday, not only that but you have 3 white, 3 red and a rosé to choose from on the house wine list, all FOC.

8. What's your sport?

Five Nations Rugby and the top Premiership games are an absolute must for the sports fanatic in our multi-screen bar, accompanied of course by a choice of 7 beers and 5 cocktails for the thirsty enthusiast.

9. Re-charge on us

Going green and driving electric ? Top up for free before your trip home. Electric car chargers are available in our private underground parking.

10. Proud to be shortlisted

We’ve just been shortlisted for France's Best Ski Boutique Hotel 2024, another accolade to add to our mantlepiece which already includes “Best New Ski Hotel” at the 2022 World Ski Awards.

If you believe we're worthy of another win please do cast your vote
