Once you’re out enjoying the extensive Portes du Soleil ski area, you may not feel like stopping for lunch, let alone skiing back to your chalet! Don’t worry - there is a fantastic selection of restaurants on the mountain or in the village to choose from.
During busier school holiday weeks, don’t forget to ask your chalet host to make a reservation on your behalf so that you can get a table. Many of the lunch time restaurants also offer evening dining, perfect for your chalet host’s night off.
Here’s our selection of 10 of the best restaurants in and around Les Gets:
Mountain Restaurants
La Rossetaz - La Rossetaz at the top of the Rosta chair stands out for its innovative baguettes such as ‘L'Americain’ - a whole baguette with two burgers, topped up with fries and special sauce.
La Grand Ourse - La Grand Ourse is situated at an impressive altitude of 1750 metres and has stunning views of the surrounding mountains and most notably Mont Blanc. With its large outdoor terrace and cosy interior this place really is worth a visit one sunny lunchtime. We recommend booking ahead as it’s very popular. You'll find this restaurant by the Grande Ourse chairlift.
Le Vaffieu - When the sun is shining this place provides a sunny terrace all day long. Offers a traditional menu with good food. You'll find it on the Pleney slopes, near the Belvedere chairlift.
Chez Flo (Avoriaz) - A great lunch spot if you're heading over to Avoriaz. Located opposite the cable car and boasting 160 indoor seats and an additional 250 seats on the terrace, you will be well looked after by Flo and her friendly team.
La Pointe de Nyon (Morzine) - Ideal for large groups, this is a typically Savoyard restaurant. There's indoor seating and 2 terraces surrounding it. They serve seafood (the scallops are worth a look), fondue, pizzas and other French cuisine. The Point de Nyon gondola brings you 50 metres from the door.
La Paika - Take a seat on the sun-drenched terrace and enjoy fantastic fine-dining. There's plenty on offer including meat, poultry and fish grilled on the wood-fired barbecue as well as traditional dishes and speciality cheeses.
Village restaurants
Le Flambeau - Le Flambeau is the perfect choice if you're craving pizza or pasta. This is a small restaurant with great service.
La Pela - The building is an old Savoyard farm and the interior remains authentic but has a modern Savoyard-style feel. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, with a log fire for colder days. The menu includes a few seafood dishes alongside the Savoyard specialities. We recommend leaving some room for one of their delicious desserts. La Pela is on a side road by the ice skating rink on the way to the Mont Chery bubble.
La Fruitiere des Perrieres - A lovely little restaurant with excellent food, friendly people and a cosy warm atmosphere - a small menu with big flavours. It’s hardly surprising, this restaurant, located in old vaulted cellars formerly devoted to cheese ripening has many cheese specialties on the menu such as fondue, raclette and vacherin.
L'Outa - Great, cosy atmosphere, friendly service, excellent food. L'Outa is both traditional restaurant, wine bar and tea room with dining room and a terrace. In keeping with the decor, the cuisine is a blend of tradition and modern dishes, enjoy foie gras with mountain honey, roast lamb with herbs or a creme brulee gingerbread.
