While squats and wall sits are great preparation, knowing how to get truly ski-ready can be challenging. That’s where Rob’s 8-week workout plan comes in. Designed for VIP SKI guests, this programme builds strength, boosts endurance, and reduces the risk of injury – setting you up for your best ski holiday yet.
There’s no denying that ski holidays can be physically demanding, from walking to the ski school meeting point in ski boots to skiing a piste covered in moguls, a mix of endurance, strength and flexibility is required. The more “ski fit” you are at the start of your holiday, the less likely you are to pick up an injury and the better your technique is going to be.
With over a decade of experience creating tailored workout plans, Rob knows exactly how to help you get ready for your ski holiday. As a passionate skier himself, he has crafted an 8-week program that covers all the bases: strength training, core exercises, cardio, balance, and flexibility. This comprehensive plan is suitable for all fitness levels, accommodating skiers from beginners to advanced enthusiasts. Best of all, no gym equipment is necessary - though if you have weights, you can easily incorporate them into your routine.
STRENGTH TRAINING: The programme consists of a range of exercises targeting the legs and core to improve control and power and increase endurance and stamina on the slopes.
BALANCE & STABILITY: Exercises such as lunges (great for working the balance of each leg individually) and the Pavlov Press (requires stability to control your core when your limbs are under load) enhance balance and coordination which are crucial for skiing and carrying that round of drinks across the bar in ski boots at après!
FLEXIBILITY & MOBILITY: A detailed warm-up and cool-down video is included in the programme as well as a post-ski stretching video to prevent muscle strain and improve range of motion.
