Our Ski Playlist

Music is an intrinsic part of everyone’s life, whether you like folk, jazz, dance, rock or pop. What I think is amazing, is how emotive music is, a song starts playing on the radio and before you know it you’re singing along and are whisked back to a place where that particular song resonates.

A single song can instantly remind you of a previous chalet holiday, or your favourite ski run, or a relaxing afternoon in the chalet hot tub, or dancing on the tables during après ski…

I asked the VIP SKI girls in the UK office what their all time favourite ski song was and why they chose it, here’s our play list…

This song takes me right back to 2001/02 (my first ski season with VIP SKI).  Never before had I ventured out of the Meribel Valley on skis or a snowboard and now I was boarding the 3Vallees.  This song epitomises my time in the Alps, I had a great job and a great life! In that one season I used my lift pass more than I had in the previous five! Rachael, Childcare Manager

My sister and I used to sing this together on ski lifts in Meribel. One of us would start singing it at random every time we went on our yearly holiday to Meribel… fond memories of our chalet holidays. Becky, Sales Consultant

During my first ski season as a Chalet Host in Bellevarde Lodge, we played this song on repeat whilst making beds and cleaning chalet bathrooms! Despite the memories of endless cleaning it always brings a smile to my face when I hear it. Elle, Area Operations Manager

But this one definitely reminds me of great friends, driving up mountain roads in NZ and my first winter in France – it always brings a smile & chills me out when I’m a little out of my depth (it was particularly helpful Heli-boarding & out backcountry). 3 words - 'Dicks Tea Bar'. This is definitely my 'season song', it reminds me of Dicks Tea Bar on a Tuesday night and the DJ always dedicated it to the chalet staff as they  knew it was our night off. Jenn, Sales Consultant

This is my hot tub tune. I used to have all my staff meetings in my house when I was Resort Manager in Whistler and it reminds me of the good and tricky meetings we had. After each meeting I would head to the tub to make my decisions (hence why I am such a chalet hot tub fan!). Lynsey, PR Manager
