Having spent my season in Val d’Isere it would only be right to kick off our “Why visit” blog series with this fantastic resort. • Bar de L’Ouillette at the bottom of the Madeline piste offers great food, brightly coloured furniture and a buzzing atmosphere
• Les Barmes De L’Ours is an elegant restaurant inside a beautiful hotel, a great place to relax in a fireside armchair for pre-dinner drinks.

As quite the expert on the Val d’Isere après ski venues, you absolutely must experience at least one of these 3:

• The famous Folie Douce - amazing atmosphere and intriguing cabaret acts
• Café Face - cheap pints that go up by 20 cents every hour – get in there early!
• Le Petit Danois - great live music and brilliant boozy hot chocolates.
