Suite Choko

This was our second stay in Choko. We liked: our host, Annabel (and Henry), our comfortable accommodation, the great location (although access, to boot room from the slope, would be a challenge for beginners at the end of the day!), the comfortable pool area, the new toiletries (why aren’t they everywhere?), delicious food, the helpful, solicitous call the week before departure, the efficient organisation of private transfer, the wonderful welcome when we arrived on Sunday morning. The wine was well chosen, we especially enjoyed the house champagne. The staff presence in the bar positively added to the atmosphere. The ski hire on site, Annelise was helpful. The beds were comfortable. We were disappointed by small details: not having Greek yogurt, despite pre stay request-resolved mid stay, following petition to manager-or salted butter (self purchased). The suggested charge for an additional towel. I would have preferred : better quality bed linen and toilet rolls, mid stay.a menu for breakfast, to suggest options. The interesting menu could be more balanced: salmon fish cake starter (substantial!) and potatoes with main course, canapes on first night. A milk frother with the coffee machine would be helpful. After our first day the hot tub became very busy so we stopped using the spa facility. The communal corridor and gym floor could be more frequently cleaned-the carpet outside our room needs a proper clean! I don’t understand why there is a charge for soft drinks and beer. The cushions are uncomfortable, although hard wearing!

Excellent facilities and Annabelle was brilliant

I’ve been skiing for 20 years and this has been without a shadow of a doubt the best accommodation I’ve ever stayed in - I’ve never stayed in a hosted chalet so I’m now converted for life. Casper, Belle and Georgie were our hosts with the most, they were so wonderful, great cooks, had lovely energy with great chat and made us feel part of a home. We will miss breakfast with Casper and his afternoon tea and debriefing on local Les Arc gossip with Georgie. Hoping they will be our hosts for our next trip.

The chalet was beautiful and clean and the food was good. However the constant in and out and back and forth from other chalet staff EVERY evening was exhausting and irritating. Simple things like obtaining the Wi-Fi code seemed impossible and staff new zero about the local area and were unhelpful in advising anything. There were also occasions during the afternoon when chalet staff and management let themselves in un-announced - without ringing the door bell or knocking. We found this to be a huge violation of our privacy and completely un acceptable. We understand the the chalets are run by teenagers and young adults but we did expect a bit more of a mature attitude, and less ‘turning up as if they hadn’t gone to bed’ preferably with clean, ironed uniform.

Thank you for your honest feedback. I’m sorry that you felt let down by the local knowledge and appearance of your hosts, and also the frequent appearance in your chalet of other colleagues. We understand that this would have been irritating and we have immediately addressed this in a meeting of our colleagues this morning. Our sincere apologies.

Bear Lodge is the perfect ski accommodation. Absolute ski in/ski out and great facilities. Arc 1950 is a fantastic little village. VIP staff are all very friendly, helpful and positive. Our chalet host Connor was wonderful. Even when faced with hours of cooking and cleaning he was always happy to chat and provide advice. Will definitely book with VIP next time.

Thanks to everyone at Bear Lodge for such a wonderful skiing holiday! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. The accomodation was brilliant and our chalet host Connor looked after us so well. The food was excellent quality, varied and there was plenty of it. This is the best ski in ski out experience we have had. We would highly recommend. Thanks VIP!

Great chalet, great location, great chalet host.

The photos do not do Bear Lodge justice. This is hands down the best chalet that we've ever stayed at and coupled with the service that we had from Lottie, Mimi and the guys at the bar all our expectations were surpassed. Food in the chalet was tasty and plentiful. The rooms are big and everything seems to have been thought of e.g. USB charging. The location is fantastic with ski in / out and perfect to ski in either Les Arcs or in 30 mins you can be in La Plagne. We would love to come back! We picked VIP Ski based on a previous trip taken pre-covid and we were so happy we did that. The staff really can't do any more for you and you feel taken care of as soon as you get out of Geneva airport. The property is new. There are some teething problems and things to be altered next year. One of the lifts didn't work for the whole time we were there and the hamman steam room didn't work for 2 of the days. And someone thought it was a good idea to build a bar where the nearest toilet is on another floor..... But these are small items against a wonderful holiday.

We stayed in Chalet Choco for the week and loved every minute of it. The VIP team were warm and welcoming and our hosts Lotti and Mimi looked after us all week. Cooked breakfasts, delicious cakes and freshly prepared 3 course dinners kept us very well fed. The facilities at Bear Lodge were great. The ski in and out boot room, wellness centre with pool, hot tub and sauna contributed to a perfect ski week. They even layed on 7 days of sunshine. A few things could be better. The bar was a little soul-less, lacking atmosphere, the toilets on the 2nd floor didn't help. The steam room was out of action for 2 days. For 2 of the meals the meat was slightly overcooked, perhaps a meat thermometer for the hosts or just improved timings. The free transfer needed clearer description, e.g. non stop or direct, we took a private one as we assumed it would go via other resorts. None of this spoiled the holiday but are things to make it even better.

True VIP service in a brand new chalet apartment made all the better by the resort staff who went above & beyond to make our trip extra special. Everything is brand new with a lovely spa, cinema and ski in/out right infront of 2 of the main lifts. Our chalet host Will was hard working, courteous and his food delicious! 10/10 We would not hesitate to recommend this chalet and will be coming back next year. Thank you!
